CSIR invited online application for Joint CSIR-UGC Test June 2017 for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Eligibility for Lectureship in the second week of February 2017. CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test Tentatively on Sunday 18th June, 2017. Eligible candidates can apply online before 24.03.2017 through official website i.e. http://www.csirhrdg.res.in.

CSIR-UGC NET June 2017 : Subjects of the Test (18 June 2017)

The Test will be held in the subjects as given under: 
  1. Chemical Sciences 
  2. Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences 
  3. Life Sciences 
  4. Mathematical Sciences 
  5. Physical Sciences 
Note : Engineering Sciences has been discontinued from December, 2016 NET

Eligibility Criteria
  • Candidates who fulfill the criteria laid down by UGC are eligible to apply for CSIR-UGC NET June 2017 exam to be held on 18.06.2017.
  • PhD degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991, with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship only.
Educational Qualification
  • Candidates should possess M. Sc or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/BE/BTech/BPharma/MBBS with at least 55% marks for General & OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST/PHC candidates.
  • Candidates should possess BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks.
Age limit
  • For JRF (NET) : Maximum 28 years as on 01-01-2017 
  • For LS (NET): No upper age limit. 
Note :  Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC(non creamy layer)/ Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants).

CSIR-UGC NET Exam Scheme June 2017

The single paper MCQ based test will be held tentatively on Sunday, the 18th, June 2017 as under:

Subject : (i) Life Sciences (ii) Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences (iii) Mathematical Sciences (iv) Chemical Sciences (v) Physical Sciences 
Marks : 200

Note : The actual number of questions in each part and section to be asked & attempted may vary from subject to subject. 

CSIR-UGC NET June 2017 Syllabus 

The question paper shall be divided into three parts, (A, B & C) as per syllabus & Scheme of Exam.
  • Part 'A' shall be common to all subjects. This part shall contain questions pertaining to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparison, series formation, puzzles etc. 
  • Part 'B' shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus. 
  • Part 'C' shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate's knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. 
Note :
  • Negative marking for wrong answers, wherever required, shall be applicable as per subject wise scheme of Exam. 
  • If a question for any reason found wrong, the benefit of marks will be given to only those candidates who attempt the question. 
Examination / Application Fee
  • General Rs. 1000/- 
  • Other Backward Classes(OBC)-Non Creamy Layer Rs. 500/- 
  • SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH) or Visually Handicapped (VH ) Rs. 250/-
Candidates may deposit their Examination Fee in any branch of the Indian Bank throughout the country in cash. Srinagar and Imphal candidates may deposit their fees through RTGS or NEFT by giving particulars of the Indian Bank, as notified in the fee deposit challan.

Candidates are required to take print out of the Application Form and send application form duly filled along with CSIR marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan in an envelope superscribed with Subject Code, Centre Code & Medium Code so as to reach as per the schedule  to the following address :
