Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) is going to conduct a written examination for various posts of PGT and TGT for 2023.

The written exam schedule for the post of PGTs is being uploaded on the official website of HSSC i.e. www.hssc.gov.in or www.recruitment-portal.in.

HSSC TGT & PGT Exam Scheme / Pattern 2023


HSSC will conduct a written exam for the post of TGT for 2023. The written exam will be of Objective type which will consist of 90 objective-type multiple-choice questions. Each question will carry 1 mark. So, there will be 95 Marks for the HSSC TGT Written Exam 2023. Admit cards for HSSC TGT Written Exam will be issued to eligible candidates. HSSC TGT Exam Scheme 2023 is as below.

  • Environmental Awareness: 10% Weightage
  • Haryana General Knowledge & Welfare Schemes of Haryana Govt.: 20% Weightage
  • Road Safety Awareness: 5% Weightage

HSSC TGT Merit List / Final Selection Criteria 2023

The final selection for the post of TGT will be as per the selection criteria adopted by HSSC for the post of TGT. The total marks obtained in the written test and viva-voce will determine the merit of the candidates in their respective categories.

Here are the selection criteria for the post of TGT -
  • Total Marks: 100 Marks
  • Written Exam: 95 Marks
  • Socio-economics Criteria & Experience: 05 Marks

HSSC TGT & PGT Selection Criteria 2020


HSSC PGT recruitment will be made on the basis of total marks obtained in the Written Exam, Experience, and Viva-voce.

HSSC TGT & PGT Experience Marks

A total of 05 marks are fixed for Experience for the recruitment of PGT. The candidates who are teaching in Govt. schools / private schools or govt. aided schools in the capacity of TGT and PGT will be given Experience Marks as per the following scheme :

One-half (=0.5) mark for each year or part thereof exceeding six months of experience, out of a maximum of sixteen years, on the same or a higher post in any Department/Board/Corporation/Company/Statutory Body/Commission/Authority of Government of Haryana. No marks shall be awarded for any period less than six months.

HSSC TGT & PGT Merit List / Final Selection Criteria

The final selection for the post of PGT will be as per the selection criteria adopted by HSSC for the post of PGT. The total marks obtained in the written test, Experience, and viva-voce will determine the merit of the candidates in their respective categories.

Here are the selection criteria for the post of TGT & PGT -
  • Total Marks: 100 Marks
  • Written Exam: 90 Marks
  • Socio-economics Criteria & Experience: 10 Marks

The 10 marks for socio-economic criteria and experience shall be allocated as follows :

a. If neither the applicant nor any person from among the applicant's family viz father, mother, spouse, brother, and Son is, was or has been a regular employee in any Department/Board/Corporation/Company/Statutory Body/Commission/Authority of Government of Haryana or any other State Government or Government of India. (5 marks)

b. If the applicant is:-
(i) a widow; or
(ii) the first or the second child and his father had died before attaining the age of 42 years: or
(iii) the first or the second child and his father had died before the applicant had attained the age of 15 years,".

c. If the applicant belongs to such a denotified tribe (Vimukt Jatis and Tapriwas Jatis) or Nomadic tribe of the State of Haryana which is neither a Scheduled Caste nor a Backward Class. (5 marks)

d. Experience (5 Marks)

Download HSSC TGT, PGT Syllabus 2020. HSSC will conduct a written test for the selection of Post Graduate Teacher in Haryana. The written exam will be Objective nature carrying 90 MCQs of 90 marks. 75% of the total questions are fixed for General Awareness, Reasoning, Maths, Science, Computer, English, Hindi, and subject-specific. 25% of the total questions will be from the section of History, Current Affairs, Literature, Geography, Civics, Environment, Culture, etc. of Haryana state. Here is the detailed syllabus of TGT, PGT Written Test to be conducted by HSSC.

Note: The above Exam Scheme of HSSC TGT & PGT was as per the exam notice for the post of PGT & TGT released by HSSC. However, there was some confusion in the exam pattern/scheme of TGT & PGT Written exam. There were 100 questions in HSSC PGT Biology Question Paper 06.12.2015. As per the official exam scheme, there should be 80 objective questions but there were 100 questions in the question paper of HSSC PGT Biology exam 06.12.2015. So, candidates were advised to study as per the new exam scheme/pattern of HSSC TGT, PGT Exam 2016.

    1. HTET is necessary for PGT, TGT Recruitment 2015-16. Candidates are required to produce HTET Certificate at the time of Interview. You can appear in Screening Exam without HTET Certificate.

  2. I have cleared htet pgt examn for computer science which was held on 18 June 2016. but I have not applied for screening. Can you tell me whether screening has been done or not. Or I can still apply for it?
    please also tell me whether B.ed is required for PGT Computer science. I have M.Tech degree in computer science
